Infiniti M Impul 651S 2011

infiniti m impul 651s
Rolling into the 2011 Toyko Motor Show is an Infiniti luxury sedan that may surely produce quite a stir. this is often no standard Infiniti M. This vehicle has been done over by Japanese tuner, Impul, to form the new Impul 651S, a vehicle that boasts of a powerful aerodynamic package and a few engine updates for the thirty seven and M25 versions.

Some of the changes aren't overly obvious, however the result transforms this vehicle from a normal folks pusher to a mean and low transporter. After all, that's typically the goal for these sorts of vehicles; remodeling the standard to the aggressive and classy.

The exterior package includes a brand new front bumper, front grille, aspect skirts, rear bumper, rear wing, and sports ducts to induce that low, rough look. The automobile currently sits on AURA SX-20 wheels and a brand new set of coil over springs. Bringing the gruff sound out of the engine is that the new chrome steel exhaust system.

The EXTRA POWER KIT will specifically what it says it does; offer the automobile some additional bang and responsiveness. The device consists of an IMPUL Hi Power management Unit and massive throttle valves. Needless to mention, using premium gasoline for the additional POWER KIT will bring out additional power. Don’t worry if your Infiniti has already been equipped with an IMPUL Hi Power management Unit, you'll still boost the performance by adding the throttle valves

AutoWeek names Porsche 918 RSR concept Detroit's best in show

DETROIT -- Porsche AG's 918 RSR concept -- introduced this week at the Detroit auto show -- was named best in show today by editors at AutoWeek.

“It was the undisputed star of the show,” said Wes Raynal, AutoWeek editor. “Porsche is clearly looking at going back to Le Mans in 2012, and the Porsche 918 RSR gives us clues to a production coupe coming in 2013.”

This was the German automaker's first appearance at the Detroit auto show since 2007. The 918 supercar beat out the 2012 Audi A6, the 2011 Chrysler 300, the Ford Vertrek concept and the Mini Paceman.

The Vertrek received the best concept award because of its blend of European styling and American practicality.

“Ford has been so focused on serious stuff such as small cars and fine-tuning production models that it hasn't had a lot of time to craft concepts capable of turning heads at auto shows,” said Roger Hart, AutoWeek executive editor.

“The best part is that Ford design boss J Mays says this concept is very close to the look of the next Escape.”

AutoWeek also named the redesigned Chrysler 300 as the most significant model and the all-new BMW 1-series M coupe as the most fun vehicle of the Detroit show.

The 300 earned the honor because of its critical position within the Chrysler lineup, and the 1-series M coupe “gets the driver in us excited,” Hart said.

The awards were announced at the 17th AutoWeek Design Forum, held at the College for Creative Studies. AutoWeek, a sister publication of Automotive News, also honors vehicles within these four categories at the auto shows in Geneva, Paris, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

Detroit Auto Show : Mercedes-Benz C-class

Detroit Auto Show: Mercedes-Benz C-classMercedes reveals prices and specifications for its updated C-class saloon and estate at the Detroit Auto Show.

A facelifted C-class, whoopty doo! That’ll be more technology, and a bigger, better, stronger and longer car that occupies the market segment largely filled by the previous model. Hey, don’t knock it. That’s 8.5million cars since 1982 even though the C-class proper wasn’t fully on stream until 1993.

The new model goes on sale on March 26, with more than 2,000 changes over the old model although you’d scarcely know it from the mildly facelifted coachwork. Step inside and you will know it, however, with a much needed improvement to the interior quality and design.

The engines are upgraded too, with more power and better economy. Most efficient is the £27,870 170bhp 220 CDi BlueEfficiency model with a manual gearbox which has a 64.2mpg Combined thirst emitting just 117g/km of carbon dioxide – this will be the fleet darling.

With an average 1.6 per cent increase (1.4 per cent for the estate models), launch prices start at £25,515 for the 156bhp C180 manual model, rising to £33,265 for the 204bhp C250 CDI turbodiesel, with the estate typically costing about £1,215 more than the saloon models.

All automatic models are now fitted with the Mercedes seven-speed torque converter autobox, which improves efficiency, although unlike with twin-clutch transmissions fitted to VW rivals, the manual C-class models are still the most economical choice in all cases.

The worst part of the old model was its 00 gauge sandpaper dashboard and door tops, and thankfully this is changed along with the overall design to fit in with the new corporate look. There’s a new telemetric screen for in-car entertainment and satnav functions, and ten new safety features have migrated down the Mercedes-Benz model range to the C-class. These include Attention Assist, which monitors driver behaviour for fatigue, Active lane keeping assistance, blind-spot assistance, speed-limit assistance and intelligent headlamp assistance.

There are three UK model specifications: SE with 16in wheels and tyres, Elegance, which costs £1,295 more and adds 17in wheels and more features, and Sport, which is a further £1,700 more than the Elegance and adds 18in AMG wheels and yet more features.

Style watchers should take note that the Elegance and SE versions get the traditional Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star bonnet mascot, while the Sport model has the star incorporated into the grille.

Video: Toyota Previews 2012 Prius MPV Ahead Of Detroit Show

The 2011 Detroit Auto Show holds promise for Prius-lovers, with the first addition to the ubiquitous hybrid brand's family: an MPV, or multi-purpose vehicle. Americans may want to call it a wagon, or a hatchback, or something else, but whatever it's named, it's a longer, larger version of the Prius.

X Games skateboarder Bob Burnquist, himself a big fan of sustainable living and minimizing environmental impact, gives us a few teasers of what to expect--including a look down its long cargo area--in the video below. Beyond this small sneak peek, however, we know a bit about what to expect of the Prius MPV.

First previewed by the Hybrid X concept back in 2007, the idea of a larger Prius is not new. Nor is the story of a full family of Prius-badged vehicles. The production version of the new, larger Prius has even been teased on Facebook. But what of the specs?

The hybrid drivetrain, including both the combustion engine and Synergy Drive electrical portion, are expected to be identical to the standard Prius, though it's possible the hybrid system of the foreign-market Toyota Auris Hybrid could be tapped to haul the larger load. Roughly 50 percent more cargo volume will be found inside, and seating for up to seven passengers is possible.

This isn't the only addition to the Prius family, however. A smaller, Yaris-like car is expected as well. Toyota is keeping mum on this expected addition, though we should see a concept version of the car in Detroit alongside the Prius MPV's unveiling--Toyota says "a Prius concept vehicle" is coming to the snowy show. It's not expected for sale until the 2013 model year, however.

It all kicks off January 10 at 1:05 p.m. EST, and we'll be on hand to bring you the live images, news, and details, so stay tuned. In the mean time, see how many unique elements of the new Prius family member you can spot in the video.

L.A. auto show: Nissan Quest back after a year off, rested and ready to roll

Nissan debuted its new 2011 Quest minivan at the Los Angeles auto show, with a host of innovative features.

"It's all about the interior," executive vice president Carlos Tavares said.

That's good, because the exterior of the old one looked a little too much like the shuttle craft from the original "Star Trek." The "bold, sophisticated, modern" exterior of the new van takes most of its cues from the Forum concept van of 2008, a handsome styling job shown at Detroit that year.

Interior features of the 2011 Quest include rear seats that fold forward and flat, even in the third row. That gives it the best cargo capacity in the segment, Nissan says, since most competitors' seats either come out or fold into the floor. The Quest's seats can't be removed but Nissan says that the fold-flat configuration added an extra 40 quarts of space and a two-inch-lower step-in height.

Other inside features include second-row power seats, a removable second-row console and power-sliding side doors and windows. There is even a storage well in the rear.

The 3.5-liter V6 sends 253 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. The Quest does not have cylinder deactivation like the Honda Odyssey minivan, but Nissan claims its CVT--if hooked up to competitors' V6s--would increase the fuel-economy numbers of those engines. So there.

The Quest rides on a version of the Altima/Maxima platform, with struts in front and a multilink rear.

The base sticker price will be $27,750, including destination, when it goes on sale in early 2011.
