HATCI and team Magnuson supercharged Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Hyundai has announced a pilot based on the Genesis Coupe already fast for the SEMA show this year. The fully functional prototype has a 450 hp version of the original, 3.8 V6, a differential intelligent, six pots Brembos on the front suspension and a Nürburgring-developed. In addition to partnering with products Magnuson, Rhys Millen Racing (DPR) and International Torvec, Harmon International has provided the high-end system Lexicon sound to cool the interior.

Apart from some Katzkin leather seats, details are scarce on the inside. The focus is on pushing the performance envelope as described by Terry Peddicord, director of sales, America Technical Centre for Hyundai, "One of the many exciting aspects of this project is that Genesis is not hurricane SC just a pretty face for the show circuit, but it's a lab rat who works hard will push the limits of this car and the entire vehicle segment. "

Hyundai has worked with TMR not only to improve aerodynamics, but to show the claims of the sports car: the bumper, grille, valance, side skirts and rear spoiler are all new additions. Appearance in the ring, LED headlights and taillights are provided by Flyride.

At least for some of us, the most interesting changes are mechanical: Bilstein monotube shocks, a SPEC-powered aluminum steering wheel and the second stage clutch, fuel filter and higher flow injectors DeatschWerks, oil PermaCool, chiller diff, steering fluid cooler and a CPR manufacturing oil filter adapter.
Hyundai seems to be just an effort to push the mechanical improvements, some of the pieces will be on the floor for the SEMA show to interact with viewers.

Hyundai Eon – Studio shots

Hyundai launched the 814cc hatchback Eon this afternoon and the rush begins to build up at dealerships. While many of us predicted a starting price of less than 2.5 lakh rupees, Hyundai has pushed it to 2.69 may be praised by a load of positive from critics and customers.

The Eon, although better is cheaper to buy the Santro with better interior design and many useful features in comparison. The plastic quality, fit and finish are best in class. But Hyundai is clever not to spec it to the brim. Despite this, we will see many Santro owners switching to Eon.

The three advantages the Santro has over Eon -
  • Option of LPG and CNG
  • 1-liter engine with higher outputs (63PS/89Nm compared to 56PS/75Nm)
  • Resale value
Three advantages Eon has over Santro
  • Fluidic design language makes Santro look like the original Godrej Bero
  • Price advantage (2.69-3.75 lakh compared to 2.84-3.96 lakh)
  • Better fuel economy (21.1 kmpl)
In the next three years, we expect to see Hyundai making these moves (purely speculative)
  • Introduce LPG variant (caught on test) and CNG variant. Will they bring a sub-1 liter diesel?
  • Launch 1.0-liter petrol engine variant (possibly the Kappa-based petrol motor used on the export market i10)
  • Offer features like height-adjustable driver seat, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted audio controls, etc – Listen to the customer and upgrade variants
  • By doing so replace the Santro range
We’d like to see how this impacts sales of Alto brand. The Alto is India’s best selling car and manages 25k+ units every month. We’re also keeping a close watch on the Santro sales. How much will the Eon cannibalize Santro sales?

The Eon does more good than bad. It increases footfalls at dealerships. This is the time Santro and i10 sales executives need to be alert at dealers.

Hyundai Eon review, test drive

We got our hands on any new Hyundai small car, Eon. And here are our first impressions, from Namyang, what a car is extremely impressive.

Previously known by its code name of HA, the baby hatch will compete with the likes of the Alto and the A-Star and is expected to take a huge chunk of the market share of Maruti. Heavily carved and richly detailed, Eon has certainly looks to accomplish this. The modern fluid makes it look like anything but a car at low cost. The wheel arches and the shoulder line are so complex, you would have to go all the way to something like a Mercedes-Benz CLS to see something similar. There is a hint of Hyundai hexagonal radiator grille and the place is attractive with Eon headlights chrome detailing as well.

Like all compact sedan from Hyundai, Eon is built around a 2380mm wheelbase. But this car is even shorter in length than the Santro and is lighter too. The intelligent use of steel with a variable thickness makes the Aeon both reasonably rigid and light. And 715 795 kg, it is as light as Maruti Alto, which is saying something. The interior, which reminds you a well-equipped out-i10, small shelves are full of intelligent and lockers. The car is also well equipped - it features a CD player, USB audio, remote locking, a shift indicator on the instrument panel and tilt steering.
With the steeply raked windshield to the front and short, space is at a premium. And fuel to the fire is space for luggage, which is important for this class of car. Starting, dimensionally similar to the Santro, holds 215 liters of luggage. This means knee space for rear passengers is tight, especially when there is a big driver at the wheel.

Sitting upright, however, allows rear passengers to place their feet under the front seats. A thigh support is good enough and has enough space too. The best place to sit, of course, is at the front. The space is generous and the seats are big enough and support.

The Aeon is powered by a three-cylinder version of the Santro engine Irde, and 814cc and 56bhp, it seems to have a reasonable amount of pep. Hyundai has not managed to get the refinement of the three-cylinder unit to the right. In the car we drove, there was a certain amount of vibration at idle. The engine felt thrummy at times and if it has smoothed up nicely when on the move, the top end felt a little tense too. However, the engine has plenty of performance from the mid high, and Eon has sufficient power to the conditions most city.

Stability was also surprisingly good on our short drive to the technical center Namyang in Korea, with the feeling of Eon agile and quick in turning corners. With a management system of the generator, light and efficient engine, Hyundai claims 21.1kpl - something that will go a long way in improving the attractiveness of this car. Now all we need is the right price.

The cheapest car from Hyundai is just 2.5 lakhs

The Hyundai company is ready to bring the new rival to the Maruti 800 car in the Indian market. Yes, we are on the Hyundai Eon, which is expected to talk horns with the likes of Chevrolet Spark and the Maruti Alto Numero Uno lock. In the past, very few cars were able to repeat the success of Maruti in the 800 cc class. Eon The Hyundai is on track and is on the streets on the 13th Be October 2011. The car is expected that with an attractive price of 2.5 lakhs and come up stations.

The South Korean carmaker Hyundai car says that the Hyundai Eon be equipped with a modern 800 cc engine and is the ideal requirements for an Indian auto-mobile in terms of mileage and quality. Going sure looks through the current demand for compact and entry-level cars in the Indian market between Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh over the counter until the likes of Hyundai companies have heated.

The more worrying factor seems to be the rising cost of gasoline and the trend towards diesel cars and of course the already existing competition in the compact car segment. Hyundai sure has his hands full and it will be interesting to see how Hyundai to manage this rigid position of the competition with the likes of Maruti Alto Maruti Indias and Chevrolet Chevrolet Spark.

However Hyundai seems to have learned from past mistakes and has some eon never before with the Hyundai launches. The car comes with an 814 cc engine and simply hits the 48-hp mark with a maximum torque of 50 Nm. The car can easily seat up to 4 persons and is equipped with five-speed manual transmission. The introduction of the Hyundai Eon is expected that the much needed volume to bring in revenue and put the number two position of the company in the Indian market. In point of fact before launch reports indicate the company is always ready for an all out war against the Maruti Alto and the Chevrolet Spark

The car for a 2.5 lakh base price does not look like an entry level car hire. Apart from the looks of the cars performance and quality, something like a cheap little car.The car is already touted as the next Maruti 800 and is in fact as the Hyundai 800 celebrated in the auto-switching of the fans. The Hyundai company claims that the car delivers 21.1kpl. Looks like Hyundai Eon is certainly in a long stretch on the Indian roads.
