Peugeot 508 Features and Spesifications Review, Price Details

Peugeot is about to take on class leaders in the sedan segment with the D-508, the new Peugeot presence in the Grand Touring class, which will be officially launched in South Africa in early November.

His style was seen on the SR1 concept car and matured in the process of production to a low profile with an elegant recessed running along the body. A long wheelbase offers a generous capacity for rear passengers, and a 545 liter boot.

Treatment before has a single "floating" grille and directional bi-xenon headlights with distinctive LED "tube" of high-end models, while the back is "all in one piece", the trunk lid completely flush the bumper.

Each cluster has three tail light red "claws" housing three rows of six LEDs to give the 508 a unique signature after dark.

The theme of the "quiet quality" is achieved through the inside, with a simple, elegant façade, four-zone air conditioning, hands-free access and start-up, an automatic electronic parking brake, electronic lumbar massage function driver and JBL audio equipment high performance.

A color head-up display is available in conjunction with the satellite navigation system.

The range 508 to South Africa will comprise five models:

1.6 THP Active - R283 700

1.6 THP Allure a/t - R306 700

2.0 HDi Active 103kW - R300 700

2.0 HDi Active 120kW - R303 200

2.2 HDi GT a/t - R409 900

The 1.6-liter turbo gasoline is estimated to be 115kW, two-liter diesel will be available to listen or 103kW and 120 kW, and the GT has a new 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine of Peugeot HDi for which cites 150 kW and 450Nm muscle.

The 1.6-liter and two versions will have a new type of axle MacPherson at the front, while the GT comes with a drop link double wishbone front axle, dual triangulation and the decoupling of functions to rebound and leadership, says the manufacturer, improves the rigidity of the body at a time and driving precision. All 508, however, will share the same multi-link rear suspension.

The 508 has rack and pinion steering with electro-hydraulic assistance adaptive, as with the suspension, the GT is greater than the index for a faster response and feedback over the driver.

All 508 have electronic stability control, traction control, emergency brake assist in the electronic distribution of braking force and hold hill. Prices include a period of five years or 100 000 km maintenance plan.

Peugeot Unveils New 4008 SUV


Peugeot has unveiled the 4008, an SUV to its range of vehicles "appropriate to different customer needs all-terrain", according to the firm.

There are four engine options - a 1.6 liter petrol 114bhp, a gasoline 2.0-liter 148bhp and two diesels, 1.6 and 1.8 liters with 110 hp and 148bhp respectively. For European markets, however, that diesels are offered, both of which are mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard.

The 4008 will be available in just a pretext 4x4 in Europe, with a system that has three selectable drive modes, including two-wheel drive, four wheel drive "Lock". Based on the platform 4007, the Peugeot 4008 has front and rear overhangs are shorter by 300mm, while keeping a long wheelbase of its predecessor and the wide track to maximize cabin space.

External features of the Peugeot 4008 include 18-inch alloys, an upright grille, flared wheel arches, sill protectors and LED lights that light running "complete the spotlight." Inside, the cabin gets a panoramic glass roof, a navigation system with touchscreen and rearview camera. The price of the Peugeot 4008 has not yet been announced.
