Automotive News reports that BMW has managed to hold on the title of world's best-selling premium car manufacturer to September. The company's core brand saw its sales increase by 9.3 percent last month, putting in front of BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz at the same time. Audi sales in September up 17 percent, while Mercedes-Benz saw its sales rose a more modest two per cent jump. BMW says the latest findings underline the fact that the automaker is on track to deliver more than 1.6 million vehicles worldwide this year.
Mini alone enjoyed a sales increase of 20.5 percent last month, thanks in part to the arrival of the new Countryman. The model has over 76,000 units sold worldwide since its launch nearly a year ago. Meanwhile helped vehicles like the BMW X1, X3 and 5 Series car manufacturers to increase the press as well. Sales of the X3 profit of 260.6 per cent to 11 345 units last month. Rolls-Royce also enjoyed a 41-percent boost in sales in the first nine months of the year.
