Name change imminent Renault admits Boullier

Team manager Eric Boullier has confirmed that Renault wants to change his name to the 2012 season.

Currently there with a team called Team Lotus Lotus-sponsored group competing against Renault, the parties find a solution.

It seems that the plans for Team Lotus in the name of the owner Tony Fernandes' car maker Caterham adopt for the next season, with Renault for the sole Lotus.

But name changes are not supported in Formula 1, which means that the proposal must be approved by the Sport F1 Commission.

There are some teams that felt like cleaning, known as BMW-Sauber, long after the withdrawal of German brand, expressed cautious when asked to agree to the Lotus solution.

"Name changes are not something that should be promoted," agreed FOTA chairman Martin Whitmarsh.

"But if you have two names in the Lotus Formula One, it strikes me that this is not desirable, it is not what people really need or want in the sport," the McLaren chief of Reuters.

Boullier is confident the matter will be by the time of World Motor Sport Council released the December meeting.

"It's only two teams to change names at the same time and some people want to make sure it did with the right process and the right purpose. That's it, nothing else," he said.
