Peugeot has unveiled the 4008, an SUV to its range of vehicles "appropriate to different customer needs all-terrain", according to the firm.
There are four engine options - a 1.6 liter petrol 114bhp, a gasoline 2.0-liter 148bhp and two diesels, 1.6 and 1.8 liters with 110 hp and 148bhp respectively. For European markets, however, that diesels are offered, both of which are mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard.
The 4008 will be available in just a pretext 4x4 in Europe, with a system that has three selectable drive modes, including two-wheel drive, four wheel drive "Lock". Based on the platform 4007, the Peugeot 4008 has front and rear overhangs are shorter by 300mm, while keeping a long wheelbase of its predecessor and the wide track to maximize cabin space.
External features of the Peugeot 4008 include 18-inch alloys, an upright grille, flared wheel arches, sill protectors and LED lights that light running "complete the spotlight." Inside, the cabin gets a panoramic glass roof, a navigation system with touchscreen and rearview camera. The price of the Peugeot 4008 has not yet been announced.
