Skoda Lauretta is now fast, think again. Autocar first revealed that its version of the Skoda Rapid Vento on 24 April was proclaimed, and then the name was rapid. Skoda then had a change of heart and decided on the name of Lauretta. Lauretta and it was his will. Skoda printed manuals with the name, made badge for the tailgate, and even registered the model, but unfortunately got a bad Lauretta answer if it was hospital-ed.
So now, incredibly, it is back in Rapid. Officially. (Ahh, the dangers of reporting manufacturer plans well before they are frozen!) At the rollout ceremony in Chakan today, Skoda said Chairman Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland: "The Rapid a true reflection of our motto" Simply Clever " is. "
Autocar India was also the first magazine to show you pictures of blatant Rapid. Our anniversary issue in September had a couple of exclusive pictures of the car, and it was pretty clear that this Skoda was put together with a collection of known elements. Yet there is something very attractive about the design.
The headlights, grille and fog are similar to the Skoda Fabia. Look closely and you can see the Vento under the skin. To the Skoda and VW-bit mixing, there is a new hood, new fenders and a slightly modified chin. The engine hood is longer, the new fenders on the Vento is installed sharp bend in it and the chin is easily changed at the corners, where it with well-designed wheel arches, the Vento is on going. The rear is different than the VW Vento. Granted, you still need closer look at these images and compare it directly with a Jetta, but one can say that Skoda has its 'C' motif used in the taillights, the area where the number plate sits has been changed and there a new sculpture bumper.

Differences, if any, of the Vento engines are in their state of tune. Also expect the interiors to provide the same type of room and comfort than the VW. Plenty of leg room, generous width and well-supported front seats.
Keeping the positioning of the two brands have in mind, you can also expect to be priced slightly below the Rapid Vento. And there is also the possibility, Skoda launches an even cheaper version, with some set deleted. Looks like the hole left by the exit of the Octavia, will be completed after all. Expect a competitive price and a strong sales push by Skoda.
